AN EDUCATOR FOCUSED ON HUMAN CONNECTION

Elle's work and research inspired her to pursue technology and design thinking as solutions to complex social problems, including education and financial inclusion. She is a published author whose accomplishments include:

  • Launching the first partnership between Stanford University's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school) and the Stanford Graduate School of Education
  • Winning awards from Unbank Ventures, Pipeline Angels and The Expat Woman for her mission to help tipped workers recover cash-based earnings in an increasingly cashless society.

She earned her master's degree in education policy at Columbia University's Teachers College and her PhD at University College London's Institute of Education.

CREATING PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS FOR A CASHLESS SOCIETY

Now, Elle joins the Milestone Makers cohort as the founder and CEO of TipGenie.

TipGenie started with a problem: for those who don't carry cash, there isn't a simple and seamless way to express appreciation and tip for services.

To help customers leave tips (and to help service industry workers collect payment) they've created a mobile payment platform. TipGenie makes it easy for customers, employees, and employers in the hotel and tipped service industry to benefit from mobile cashless tips, guest feedback, and even business analytics.
